CONVENTIONAL LOAN vs. FHA LOAN:

Convention loan: any loan that is not insured by the government

FHA Loan: loan insured by Federal Housing Association, all come with mortgage insurance, so you're paying up-front costs + monthly premium, easier for those who have: bankruptcy in the past, less-than-perfect credit, can use a co-borrower

Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI): If you put less than 20% down on a conventional mortgage, you’ll have to pay compensation to the lender for taking a chance on a borrower with a lower down payment. If you put 20% down, you’ll never have to pay PMI.
